What SetTern.io does, what you're agreeing to when you use it, and what we are (and aren't) liable for. Plain English, no filler.
SetTern.io helps you organise a home move using software tools and automation (including AI). Outputs are general information for your review — not legal, financial, tax, immigration, insurance, or other regulated professional advice. You review every message and submit each change yourself. We do not act on your behalf.
SetTern.io provides guidance and tools to help you update your address with the providers and authorities relevant to your move. Specifically, we:
We do not submit changes on your behalf, log into your accounts, or replace official channels. When an update needs to be made with a provider or authority, you go through their official process and you click "send" — not us.
The product uses software and automation (including large language models) to suggest tasks, surface information, and draft starting points for you to edit. That is administrative help, not a regulated professional service.
You are responsible for reviewing every piece of guidance we generate, confirming it is accurate for your situation, and submitting any updates yourself. You must use the service in line with applicable laws and the terms of the third-party services you interact with. Where your situation involves legal, tax, financial, immigration, insurance, tenancy, employment, or other specialised matters, you are responsible for obtaining advice from appropriately qualified independent professionals before you rely on anything we show you or act on it.
SetTern.io is not a law firm, accountant, tax adviser, immigration adviser, financial adviser, insurer, regulated insurance intermediary, mortgage broker, or any other regulated professional service provider. Nothing in the service — including any text produced by artificial intelligence in the core product or in the optional in-app Service Agent (support chat) — constitutes legal, financial, tax, immigration, insurance, or other regulated professional advice, and you must not treat it as such.
Automated features (including large language models) may produce checklists, draft wording, suggested steps, links, or explanations to help you save research time. You agree to treat all such content as general information only, for your own consideration. You alone decide what to rely on; you alone are responsible for verifying information against official sources and your circumstances, for seeking independent qualified professionals where appropriate, and for any submissions or actions you take with third parties.
We do our best to keep the service useful and up to date, but third-party requirements change and AI systems can be incomplete, outdated, or wrong. We do not guarantee the completeness or accuracy of third-party requirements, eligibility, timelines, or results. Where you are unsure, confirm directly with the relevant provider or authority.
Some features of SetTern.io rely on third-party AI vendors (currently OpenAI and Anthropic) to generate journeys, draft messages and translations. When you use these features the move-related data described in our Privacy Policy is sent to the relevant vendor for inference. By choosing to use any AI feature you acknowledge and agree that:
We are not responsible for the acts or omissions of the AI vendors, including any unauthorised use or disclosure of data while it is held on the vendor's systems.
Paid plans grant access to higher-capacity AI guidance. Prices are listed in-app in GBP and are exclusive of UK VAT, which Stripe applies at checkout.
We do not offer refunds for any subscription fees once your subscription has started. By subscribing, you agree that we will begin providing the service immediately. You also acknowledge that you lose your 14-day right to cancel under the Consumer Contracts Regulations once access to the service has begun.
You can cancel your subscription at any time from your account. Your cancellation will take effect at the end of your current billing period, and you will not be charged again. You will not receive a refund for any unused time.

The SetTern.io service, brand, and code are our intellectual property. The personalised outputs we generate for you (your journey, drafted messages) are yours to use for your move.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, SetTern.io is not liable for any loss arising from reliance on the information provided by this service, including loss of earnings, data, or third-party penalties. This includes any claim that outputs from the service were or should have been legal, financial, tax, immigration, insurance, or other regulated professional advice. Nothing we provide creates a fiduciary, trustee, adviser–client, or similar relationship. This limitation extends to any acts or omissions of our sub-processors and AI vendors (including OpenAI and Anthropic) acting outside the scope of our written instructions to them.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for fraud, death, or personal injury caused by negligence, or any liability that cannot be excluded under UK law.
We may update the service and these terms. If we change anything materially we will let you know in-app or by email before the change takes effect. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
You can stop using the service and delete your data at any time. We may suspend accounts that breach these terms or that show signs of abuse.
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute (without prejudice to your statutory consumer rights in your country of residence).
